Taco Bout Tour

Some people chase dreams. Some chase success.

I, apparently, am chasing the perfect beef taco.

And thus… the Taco Bout Tour was born.

This is my official journey to find the absolute best beef taco out there — not the fanciest, not the most photogenic, but the one that makes you stop mid-bite, look at whoever you’re with, and say, “Okay yeah… this is the one.”

Now before things get out of hand, we need to establish a consistent rule.

We are a soft shell operation.

Hard shell tacos had their chance. They blew it.

They don’t bend — they shatter. One bite and it’s a full structural collapse. Beef everywhere. Lettuce everywhere. You’re brushing cheese off your shirt like you just survived an accident. That’s not dining. That’s debris management.

Soft shell tacos, though? Professionals. Reliable. Built for flavor, not chaos. So if it’s warm, folded, and loaded with seasoned beef, it’s eligible for Tour consideration.

But, no mission like this happens alone. I’ve got elite-level support keeping this operation running: my friends at Foster Hobbs Coffee Roasters. Their coffee is ridiculously smooth. The kind of coffee that doesn’t punch you in the face, it just quietly upgrades your entire day. Morning? Of course. Midday slump? Fixed. Taco scouting run across town? Mandatory fuel.

If I seem unusually alert while judging tacos, now you know why.

The plan is simple: I travel. I eat. I evaluate.

Every taco stop gets judged on the essentials:

• How good is the beef, really?

• Does the tortilla hold its own?

• Is the flavor doing something special?

• And most importantly: did I immediately want another one?

Because that last part never lies.

But this Tour isn’t just about me eating tacos (though I am heroically committed to that part). This is where we want your help!
